John William Luther Jr.

John William Luther Jr. born Oct 18, 1954 in Memphis, Tennessee, passed on Thursday, February 13, 2025, at Grandview Hospital in Vestavia Hills, Alabama. 

He was preceded in death by his parents John William (Jack) Luther Sr, Elizabeth Ann (Mickey)Luther and his son John David Luther. 

He is survived by his wife Beverly Luther, daughters Lindsey (John) Stefanovich, Mary Luther and Step daughter Danielle Byrd. He is also survived by his Grandson Connor Luther, Step Grandsons Michael Roth and Gabriel Simmons. He is also survived by his Sister Judy Luther. 

John loved life and spent many years helping men overcome addiction by discipling them. He also trained many in his trade as a Custom Home Designer as well as Custom Home Builder. His Spiritual Son Shaun Stockwell is carrying on the skills taught to him by John. 

John loved any water sports and later in life fulfilled his dream of having a lake home and enjoying time on the water with the family. He will be remembered as a man that loved God and devoted his life to loving and caring for his family as well as one that gave of himself to help others. He will truly be missed but never forgotten. 

Service Times: Visitation will be held for family on Saturday, February 22nd at 1:00 PM and 2:00 PM for friends, in the Sam Hood Memorial Chapel of Freeman Hood Funeral Services located at 10070 Hwy 78 E Jasper AL 35501. 

We want to thank The Staff and Doctors at Walker Baptist and Grandview for their care and support for John and our family. Also we would like to thank Ridgeview Health Services for their care for John over the last year.
