Mr. Samuel Corey Hood, 56, of Jasper, went home to his Lord and Savior on Thursday December 1, 2022, surrounded by his family, at Princeton Baptist Medical Center.
Sam is the owner of Freeman-Hood Funeral Services along with his partner Dennis Freeman.
Sam is preceded in death by his father Clyde Gerald Hood; and granddaughter Haven Kate Hood .
Sam is survived by his wife Andrea Hood; children Jake Hood and wife Amanda, Lauren Walker and husband Corey, Chase Hood and wife Kattie, & Jordan Faulkner; mother Joan Hood; sister Dana Sorensen and husband Chris; brother Brian Hood and wife Jade; grandchildren Finley Hood, Rhett Hood, Mac Walker, Griffin Walker, Ellie Kate Hood, Sawyer Hood, and Wyatt Hood; nephews Kalin Sorensen, Clay Sorensen and wife Caitlyn, Maddox Green, and Lawson Hood; and a host of family and friends.
Pall Bearers will be his sons Jake & Chase Hood; his brother Brian Hood; his brother-in-law Chris Sorensen; and his nephews Kalin & Clay Sorensen.
Honorary Pall Bearers will be his son-in-law Corey Walker; his stepson Jordan Faulkner; dear friends Tim Hooper, Mike Mixon, Jeff Tyler, Danny Bagwell, Jimmy Dover, Marty Martin, Heath Mixon, Dusty Walker, and Heath Richards.
In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made in Sam’s name to the Desperation Church Jasper campus.
The family would also like to acknowledge the outpouring of love that they have been blessed with by all of those that know and love Sam. And a special thank you to Frankie Posten, TJ Armstrong, and Joe Herron.
Services: A private family visitation will be held in the Freeman-Hood Chapel; And the public visitation will be held Sunday December 4, 2022 at 1:00 PM at New Oak Grove Baptist Church, with funeral services at 2:30 PM. A graveside service will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery. Adam Hicks, JD Dickerson, and Chris Pschirer will officiate.
