Ms. Susan Michelle Grace, 51, of Jasper, passed away on Tuesday, December 26, 2023, at Ridgeview Healthcare.
Susan loved and loved every person she met unconditionally. She had the heart of Jesus. All her life her favorite place to go was going to church. To have known her was to love her. If you ever had the chance to get one of her hugs you were extremely blessed and she gave them freely even if it was her first time meeting you, she gave them big and freely.
Her most favorite thing to do was to attend church. She loved Jesus and loved to sing, especially the old hymn “I’ll Fly Away” and “Amazing Grace”. She loved doing jigsaw puzzles, word search puzzles, coloring books, and for those she had a phone number she called you daily because she loved calling and talking on the phone. But one of her favorite pastimes was to watch her beloved Auburn Tigers. When Auburn was playing the whole neighborhood could hear her hollering, whether she was cheering them on or fussing about how Auburn was playing. You did not disturb her when she was watching them on TV. Susie had the mind of a small child but a heart bigger than any adult we know.
Though our hearts are shattered we know that she finally has a completely healed heart and body, she’s not only walking again but running (which she loved to do when she was little). She couldn’t carry a tune, but we know she’s got that perfect angelic voice singing “I’ll Fly Away”. She now has her daddy(Jay Grace), and nieces Kayla and Savannah back whom she missed so much. I’m sure she’s already bossing them around again. Heaven is the place we all long to be someday at the Feet of our precious Savior, but knowing Susie is already there makes us even more ready for that beautiful reunion day in Heaven.
Ms. Grace is preceded in death by her father Leon “Jay” Grace; grandparents James & Janet Davis and Marvin & Delatha Grace; nieces Kaya Butts and Savannah Sides.
She is survived by her mother Dianne Grace; sister Sandy Sides & her husband Stephen; brother Jimmy Grace; uncles MacRae Davis and Truman Davis; aunts Ellen Madsen and Marcella Davis; nephews Micah Noles and Sylas Grace; niece Hannah Grace; special friends Audrey, Taylor, Cindy, LeFan, and Rita Bray; Jean & Steve Creamer; and a host of other family and friends.
Pall Bearers will be Rodney Dulz, Benjy Abbott, Darren Rickard, Greg Dulz, Steve Creamer, Micah Noles, Cody Richard, and Kevin Higginbotham.
